Warts. Even the word is pretty off-putting, and that is how a lot of people feel who experience them. But they’re nothing to be ashamed about, in fact they’re fairly common with around 10 to 20 percent of people experiencing them at least one point during their lifetime. But they don’t look great on the skin’s surface, particularly if they are in a noticeable location. So how can you get rid of them?
Warts are small growths on the skin’s surface. They can appear anywhere on the body, most commonly on the hand, feet, armpits, neck or genitals. They typically have a rough texture that look similar to a small cauliflower or a raised blister. Warts are caused by the the human papillomavirus (HPV) virus and cause an infection in the top layer of the skin.
When you come into contact with the virus, it infects the skin usually via a small scratch or via skin-to-skin contact; the wart(s) appear as a reaction to this. This is typically why people get warts on their hand, which have been spread through shaking or holding hands with someone who is infected.
That being said, some people come into contact with another person with warts but do not pick up the virus. Scientists believe that this is partly due to genetics, and partly due to some people having stronger immune systems than others. It is typically believed that individuals with weaker immune systems are more at risk of getting wart-growing viruses or flare ups of warts during times of their life when their immune system is compromised. A strong immune system is better equipped to fight a virus before it takes hold of the body.
So how to get rid of warts?
If you are looking to prevent warts, the best thing to do is to wash your hands after skin-to-skin contact with a stranger, avoid using unclean or public towels and make sure you are wearing flip flops in areas where people do not wear shoes like pools.
If you already have warts and want to get rid of them, there are a few things you can do. Firstly, strengthen your immune system by ensuring you are getting enough sleep, consuming enough nutrient foods and taking supplements for an additional boost.
Another thing you can do is to start using the Skincerity Nightly Breathable Masque by Beauty of Action. You roll the product onto your skin at night time and it creates a breathable skin barrier over the wart to prevent it from spreading and to help it heal quickly and efficiently. It holds in moisture to restore and repair the wart, whilst also delivering a continual source of nutrients from vitamin E and grape seed oil that are integral in helping the rejuvenate.
If you are suffering with warts, you don’t have to be. Make sure you are taking care of your health to boost your immune system and using Skincerity to heal the wart quickly.
