What is eczema and what can you do to help with the symptoms?

Understanding and Managing Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema): Causes, Triggers & Relief Strategies

Atopic dermatitis—commonly known as eczema—is a chronic skin condition that affects nearly 32% of people in the United States. It’s marked by inflamed, red, dry, itchy, and scaly patches of skin that can crack or become rough. While eczema often appears in infancy, it can persist through adolescence and into adulthood if left unaddressed.

Though eczema isn’t contagious, it can seriously impact quality of life by affecting sleep, confidence, and comfort. Understanding the causes and triggers of eczema can help you better manage symptoms and reduce flare-ups.

What Causes Eczema?

There is no single cause of eczema. The condition usually results from a combination of genetic, environmental, and immune system factors.

If one or both parents have had eczema, asthma, or hay fever, there’s a much greater chance their child may also develop eczema. This is known as atopic tendency—a hereditary predisposition to allergic conditions.

On top of genetics, certain external factors can trigger or worsen eczema. These include:

Common Eczema Triggers:

  • Irritants: Soaps, detergents, shampoos, disinfectants, and fragrances can break down the skin’s natural barrier.

  • Allergens: Dust mites, pollen, mold, pet dander, and dandruff often trigger eczema flare-ups.

  • Microbes: Bacteria (such as Staphylococcus aureus), viruses, and fungi can worsen eczema or lead to infections.

  • Climate Extremes: Both hot and cold weather can irritate sensitive skin and make eczema worse.

  • Food Allergens: Dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, and nuts are common food-related triggers, especially in children.

  • Hormonal Changes: Fluctuations in estrogen levels can worsen eczema, especially during pregnancy, menstruation, or menopause.

  • Clothing: Rough fabrics like wool or synthetics can irritate skin, as can tight-fitting clothes that prevent air flow.

The Role of Stress in Eczema

One of the most overlooked—but powerful—triggers of eczema is stress. Psychological stress doesn’t just make you feel overwhelmed—it affects your entire immune system.

When you’re stressed, your body releases cortisol, a hormone that increases inflammation throughout the body. For eczema sufferers, this can mean more frequent, longer, or more severe flare-ups.

Managing stress is crucial to managing eczema. Try:

  • Meditation or breathwork

  • Gentle walks or yoga

  • Listening to music

  • Warm baths (with no harsh soaps)

  • Regular sleep and rest

Reducing stress won’t cure eczema, but it can dramatically improve your ability to control it.

I Have Eczema—What Can I Do?

Dealing with eczema can be frustrating. The symptoms—itching, dryness, and inflammation—can be not only uncomfortable but also emotionally draining, especially when they affect visible areas like the face, neck, or hands.

Here are some effective, natural strategies to help manage eczema and prevent future flare-ups:

1. Identify and Avoid Your Triggers

Track your symptoms and note what may have caused them. Eliminating or reducing exposure to known triggers is the first step to long-term relief.

2. Moisturize Frequently

Dry skin worsens eczema. Use a fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, natural moisturizer at least twice a day—especially after bathing. Look for ingredients like shea butter, ceramides, or colloidal oatmeal.

3. Use Anti-Itch Creams

Over-the-counter creams like 1% hydrocortisone can reduce itching and inflammation. Apply it after moisturizing, not before. For severe flare-ups, speak with your doctor about prescription options.

4. Don’t Scratch!

Yes, it’s hard—but scratching only damages the skin more and increases the risk of infection. Instead, gently press the itchy area or use cold compresses.

5. Wear Soft, Breathable Clothing

Loose-fitting clothes made from cotton or bamboo allow your skin to breathe. Avoid wool or synthetic fabrics that may cause irritation.

6. Take Lukewarm Baths

Hot water strips natural oils from your skin. Bathe in lukewarm water for 10–15 minutes, then pat (don’t rub!) your skin dry and apply moisturizer immediately.

7. Try Skin-Supporting Products

Some natural skincare solutions can help restore moisture and reduce irritation. The Beauty of Action’s skin solutions are designed to help rebalance moisture and support skin healing during and after flare-ups.

When to See a Doctor

If your eczema becomes painful, weepy, or infected—or if over-the-counter treatments don’t help—consult a dermatologist. They may recommend:

  • Prescription corticosteroids

  • Antihistamines for severe itching

  • Immunosuppressive therapies

  • Light (phototherapy) treatment

  • Biologics for severe, treatment-resistant cases

Final Thoughts: Take Control of Your Skin Health

Eczema may be persistent, but it’s manageable. By understanding your triggers, building a consistent skincare routine, and managing your stress levels, you can reduce flare-ups and feel more confident in your skin.

You don’t have to suffer silently. Relief is possible—with the right knowledge, tools, and support.

What can I do about inflammation and joint pain?

Inflammation is the source of all evil, really though. Inflammation is at the route of all chronic disorders, diseases, skin problems, gut problems, mood lows and so much more. So why do you have it? And what can you do about it?

Firstly, inflammation is a natural component of the body’s immune response. Think about when you fell over as a kid and you scraped your knee, the body’s natural inflammatory response caused your knee to heal again. Similarly, when you exercise your body produces a brief inflammatory response which is then compounded with a significant production of antioxidants during the anti-inflammatory recovery period.

However, small amounts of occasional inflammation are very different to chronic inflammation. Chronic inflammation is characterised by perpetually high levels of inflammation inside the body that the body is unable to manage and regulate. This eventually leads to a number of diseases and conditions, including cancer and rheumatoid arthritis.

Common symptoms of chronic inflammation are joint pain, fatigue, fever, mouth sores, gut complaints and rashes.

So why do some people suffer with chronic inflammation?

Several things can cause chronic inflammation, including an untreated cause of minor inflammation such as a contracted infection or an injury. Another more serious cause is an autoimmune disorder like Crohn’s disease, or the most common reason, is due to the long term exposure to irritants, chemicals and pollution.

So that food you’re eating that is heavily processed, full of ingredients that you can’t even name and tastes amazing? Unfortunately, it is probably the cause, or at least a contributor, to your chronic inflammation. If you are suffering with joint pain that never seems to really go away, you need to address a few key things in your life.

1. What are you eating?

Certain foods cause an inflammatory response, these include: refined carbohydrates, fried foods, processed meat and simple sugars like high fructose corn syrup. These cause chaos in your body.

Eat anti-inflammatory foods that help your body heal, like foods that are high in antioxidants and polyphenols. These foods include extra virgin olive oil, leafy greens, fatty fish, fruits and nuts. Basically, if it grows in the ground or in a tree then it will help you.

2. How much do you exercise?

This list sounds pretty boring I know, but seriously if you want to decrease inflammation in your body then you need to start moving. Exercise prevents and eliminates inflammation even at the source. According to an article published in the journal Brain, exercising for only 20 minutes a day decreases key inflammatory biomarkers.

3. What supplements are you taking?

If you’re eating healthy and moving your body but still suffer with signs of inflammation then you need to step your game up a notch. Having sufficient levels of all essential nutrients and vitamins will help to fight inflammation and if you are not getting this from your diet alone then you need to start supplementing.

Beauty of Action’s Elite and Magnical-D are specially designed to combat inflammation and joint pain, it includes a super blend of the stronger antioxidants and nutrients found in nature combined with a high dose of calcium, magnesium, vitamin D3 and vitamin K2, all proven to fight inflammation.

Guide to weight loss supplements in Australia

How Does the Body Lose Weight?

When it comes to weight loss, understanding how your body works is key. Let’s clear up a common misconception first: fat loss and weight loss are not the same.

Fat loss targets body fat specifically. Weight loss, however, can include fat, water, and even muscle mass. Losing muscle isn’t ideal—it can slow your metabolism and increase injury risk. So, if you want long-term results, fat loss should be your real goal.

Why Weight Loss Is More Than Just Diet and Exercise

It’s motivating to set a weight loss goal. It pushes us to move more and eat better. But even with clean eating and regular workouts, many people still hit plateaus. That’s when targeted supplements can give you the support you need.

While you fuel your body with healthy foods, a little extra help from the right weight loss supplements can accelerate your progress.

How to Know If You’re Losing Fat

Most people use a scale to track weight loss, but the number you see doesn’t tell the full story. It can’t show whether you’re losing fat, water, or muscle.

For women, a healthy body fat percentage ranges from 21% to 35%. For men, it’s 8% to 24%. To get a clearer picture of your progress, consider using body fat measurement tools instead of relying solely on the scale.

Supplements That Support Weight Loss

Let’s be real—you’re here because you’ve already tried the basics: healthy eating, exercise, and staying hydrated. Now you’re looking for that extra edge. The right supplements can support your fat-burning goals and make your efforts go further.

Caffeine and Metabolism-Boosting Ingredients

Good news for coffee and tea lovers! Caffeine can boost metabolism and reduce appetite, helping with weight loss. Green tea also contains catechins, which are powerful antioxidants that promote thermogenesis—your body’s calorie-burning process.

But you don’t need to drink endless cups of tea and coffee to see results. Green tea leaf extract and coffee bean extract offer concentrated benefits in supplement form.

Our Slenderiiz Day Drops include both, plus guarana seed extract—another caffeine-rich ingredient loaded with antioxidants. Together, they help curb appetite, support fat metabolism, and keep your energy levels steady throughout the day.

Natural Nighttime Support for Weight Loss

While the Day Drops energize and suppress cravings, Slenderiiz Night Drops help your body wind down and recover. They contain Holy Basil, a sacred herb known for reducing stress and balancing blood sugar levels—two critical factors in weight loss.

Stress can raise cortisol levels, leading to belly fat and increased cravings. That’s why the Night Drops also include calming ingredients like L-theanine, cordyceps powder, and astragalus root powder. These help lower cortisol, ease anxiety, and promote restful sleep. When your body is calm and rested, it can focus on fat loss more effectively.

Enjoy Weight Loss with a Chocolate-Flavored Boost

Craving chocolate during your weight loss journey? Try Slenderiiz Power Boost Cocoa. It satisfies sweet cravings and delivers nutrients that support metabolism and lean muscle.

This supplement contains L-glutamine, which aids muscle recovery and protein absorption. It’s ideal for maintaining muscle mass while on a low-calorie diet—and yes, it really does taste like chocolate!

Whether you’re just getting started or have maintained a healthy routine for years, this delicious cocoa supplement fits right in.

Common Skin Issues & 5 Tips For Younger Looking Skin

Why have I got pimples and what can I do?

This is a complaint made by women and men, across all ages, globally. It is a complaint that unites us all. But why have I got pimples? And what can I do to make them go away? Unfortunately, breakouts happen. In fact, acne is the most common skin issue in the US affecting up to 5 million Americans annually.

Typically, acne begins in puberty and affects many adolescents and young adults, but can affect people of all ages. At least 85 percent of people experience acne between the ages of 12 and 24, making it the most common health concern amongst this age group.

So what actually is acne?

Human skin has pores that connect to oil glands under the skin, which connect to follicles that contain little hairs. The glands produce and secrete an oily liquid called sebum. Sebums job is to carry the dead skin cells through the follicles to the surface of the skin.

Sometimes, the skin cells, sebum and hair combine together to create a plug which causes the follicles to get blocked and infected with bacteria. This causes the oil to build up under the skin’s surface and pimples start to develop.

So essentially, acne is the result of clogged pores infected with bacteria. This bacteria can come from external pollutants in the air, touching your face with unclean hands, unwashed bed sheets, greasy hair touching the face and so much more.

So what can you do?

Try to make sure your pores never get clogged by maintaining a thorough skincare routine, avoid touching your face and clean your bed sheets regularly.

An ideal skincare routine for acne-prone skin involves the double cleansing method, toner, moisturiser and in more serious cases an acne treatment like benzoyl peroxide or tea tree oil.

Look for ingredients like salicylic acid and azelaic acid that assist the breakdown of blackheads and whiteheads and reduces further bacterial growth. Also look for products that contain anti-inflammatory products like vitamin E and grapeseed oil that are non-comedogenic, meaning they don’t block the pores but help to calm redness and inflammation.

A key step of your skincare routine for acne-prone skin needs to involve a good moisturiser. This may seem counteractive, particularly if you have naturally oily skin which is very common for acne sufferers. However, a good moisturiser will manage sebum production naturally, which will hydrate your skin rather than clogging your pores from the excess sebum.

So if you suffer with the occasional breakout or cystic acne, you need to invest in your skincare routine to help to keep your skin free from bacteria.

How Can I Minimise the Appearance of Stretch Marks?

Let’s be real: stretch marks are very common. It is reported that 50 to 90 percent of people will experience stretch marks in their lifetime, commonly during puberty, pregnancy or from gaining weight. For some people, they go totally unnoticed. But for others, they are a source of embarrassment or insecurity, so how can I minimise the appearance of stretch marks?

Firstly, it is important to note that stretch marks are normal. They can be found anywhere on the body but are typically found on the breasts, butt, thighs and across the stomach. Some people are more at risk of developing stretch marks, including pregnant women, bodybuilders and overweight people. They appear when the skin rapidly stretches (could you have guessed?) and the collagen in your skin is disrupted. They can present as faint white lines or as thick red scarring, indicating how long they have been on the skin and the extent to which the collagen was disrupted.

For some people, the stretch marks may not bother them because they are in a hidden position like the inner thigh, or they just don’t care. But for some, stretch marks are noticeable and a point of insecurity or discomfort. But don’t worry, there are steps you can take to improve how they look and feel.

The way to improve the appearance of stretch marks is to use a product that can go deep into the dermal layer of the skin and stimulate the repair of deep scar tissue. The Beauty of Action’s Skincerity Nightly Breathable Masque helps to deeply hydrate the skin, allowing vital oxygen molecules to penetrate the skin’s barrier to address the healing of the scar tissue. It contains key ingredients like vitamin E and grape seed oil that have been shown in research to aid the healing of skin scarring.

A study by the University of Texas used Skincerity for 90 days and found that it dramatically improved their skin tone and texture. So if you want your stretch marks to be less noticeable, start using this daily.

Stretch marks don’t need to leave you feeling down, they are a completely normal part of life and are nothing to be ashamed about. But if you are feeling insecure, Beauty of Action have products that will transform your confidence by reducing the look and feel of your stretch marks effectively, to leave you feeling great.

Rosacea On Face: Symptoms, Causes, Treatments

Rosacea is a chronic and inflammatory skin condition that presents itself in the skin surface as red, prickly and inflamed areas. The condition causes the blood vessels beneath the skin surface to become swollen and visible, often appearing with red bumps, heat, irritation and general swelling. So what causes rosacea and how can you improve the symptoms associated with the condition?

Rosacea occurs in the face, typically in the cheeks, nose and around the mouth area. It can be very mild, causing the individual to look like they are blushing. It can also be more severe and noticeable, appearing with pus filled bumps and irritated, swollen or dry skin. The condition can occur in both men and women of all ages, but most commonly occurs in middle aged women with fair skin; the reasons for this demographic are unknown.

In fact, the reasons for the entire condition are largely unknown. Medical professionals believe that it occurs due to a combination of genetic factors including abnormal facial blood vessels that are quicker to flush and dilate than others, having a light skin colour, a specific bacterial strain in the gut that causes blood vessels to dilate more readily or if the condition is hereditary.

The condition can be triggered by a number of environmental factors including long term prescription drug use that dilates blood vessels, alcohol, temperature extremes, a reaction to cosmetics, sun damage and emotional triggers.

It is not considered a dangerous condition, but it can be very unpleasant for the people who experience it. For those who experience rosacea, it is usually a source of insecurity, embarrassment or annoyance. It can make sufferers feel unconfident in public, particularly if the condition is mistaken for acne or due to poor hygiene (both of which are untrue). This has led many to try and find a cure; but unfortunately, there is no known cure for the condition, but there are ways to relieve the symptoms.

The Skincerity Nightly Breathable Masque by Beauty of Action is a roll on skin treatment that creates a breathable barrier over the skin that mimics the outer layer of skin. It is not makeup, but evens out skin tone, texture and de-colouration which helps to soften the appearance of rosacea by muting the redness and textural complaints.

Not only does it improve the appearance of the skin, it also helps to deeply moisturise the skin by ensuring your skin doesn’t lose hydration which is integral to having youthful, fresh and glowing skin. The product contains all natural ingredients and is non-toxic, meaning that it won’t cause skin flare ups for those with sensitive skin.

If you want to improve your rosacea today then buy the Skincerity Nightly Breathable Masque to feel more confident in your skin.

5 Tips to Younger Looking Skin

Nowadays, age is nothing but a number. We are living longer and have more tools available to make us look younger. It’s a tale as old as time that as we age, our skin also ages but often more quickly than our biological clock, due to sun damage or not taking care of it properly. In fact one of the best and least utilised tool, is good skincare.

If you feel 30 inside but are looking closer to 60 on the outside, try and incorporate the following tips for younger looking skin.

1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Definitely the easiest and cheapest method to younger looking skin is drinking water. Water makes up 65% of your body, so only drinking a few cups a day is going to have a detrimental impact on your health and your skin. Dehydrated skin lacks elasticity, emphasising wrinkles and fine lines, thus making you look older and more weathered.

Staying hydrated helps your skin to flush out impurities and water promotes healthy blood flow particularly to the skin on the face. Moist skin looks firmer, plumper and ultimately younger. So aim for at least 10 glasses of water a day, add more if you are exercising or consuming foods with a higher salt content.

2. Eat more of the good stuff

It sounds like the obvious answer but seriously, when you eat vitamins and minerals your body has more to work with. Bland food equates to a bland appearance. Colorful, vibrant, nutritious foods equate to a youthful, glowing, vibrant appearance.

Omega-3 fatty acids found in salmon, nuts, avocados and extra virgin olive oil are also remarkable skin aids. They act as the essential building blocks of the skin’s surface layers, creating a smoother, more even, younger and healthier looking complexion.

Eating a diet rich in nutrients and omegas will deliver the necessary antioxidants for anti-aging as well as improving skin texture and calming irritation.

3. Wear sunscreen daily

Ask any older lady with great skin how they achieved it. 90% of the time, the answer is going to be: wear sunscreen. Seriously, the sun damages the skin irreparably, causing premature ageing and in severe cases, cancer.

4. Moisturise always

Using a good moisturiser will hydrate skin and protect it in the face of environmental damage like harsh cleansers and cold, dry weather. Moisturisers are critical in helping to give your skin a smoother appearance, to plump fine lines and and make wrinkles appear less noticeable. A good moisturiser will also help to get rid of a dry, uneven skin texture which will leave skin glowing and renewed.

5. A good skincare routine

I’ve saved the best until last. A good skincare routine is paramount in helping your skin look younger. Using a restorative skin serum, a moisturizer with peptides and an eye serum for example will step your skincare game up a few notches. It’s all very well to wash and moisturize your face daily, but what products are you using? Are they stimulating collagen and hyaluronic acid production? Are they adding essential nutrients to the skin? Skincare has stepped its game up and your skin will be thanking you for it.

Try the Beauty of Action Eternal Youth Package that includes all the aforementioned serums, a moisturiser and so much more. Implementing these products into a daily skincare routine combined with the other steps, will leave you looking more youthful and glowing than botox. So when people ask your age, you can keep them guessing.

Why is my metabolism so slow? And what can I do to improve it?

The human metabolism is integral to a number of physiological and biological processes in the body, and it is responsible for more than you can imagine – everything from your weight, to your mood, to your performance. A slow metabolism has a negative impact and is associated with weight gain and a struggle to lose it, so if you feel like this applies to you, keep reading.

What is your metabolism?

Your metabolism is a collection of chemical reactions that occur at a cellular level. It is responsible for converting the food we eat into energy to provide for our daily movements and activity level.

These chemical reactions are controlled by specific proteins and directly correspond to other body functions to keep you energized throughout the day. The metabolism attempts to balance two main activities concurrently: anabolism and catabolism.

Anabolism is the constructive metabolism, that supports the processes associated with building and storing. During anabolism, food is converted into carbohydrates, proteins and fats and stored accordingly.

Catabolism is the destructive metabolism, that breaks down the energy stored to use in the anabolic processes like heat and muscle repair. If you work out intensely and do not replenish your energy stores, your body may start breaking down muscle mass as an attempt to fuel your body.

So why do you have a slow metabolism?

Certain hormones are responsible for controlling the rate of the metabolism, like thyroxine. Thyroxine is a hormone produced by the thyroid and is largely responsible for how fast or slow your metabolism is. If you have a slow metabolism, you may have hypothyroidism which is an under-active thyroid gland. This means that your body is not producing enough thyroxine to properly activate metabolic functions, meaning that you end up storing more of the food you eat as fat stores rather than converting it to use as energy.

However, there is a big caveat to this. A lot of individuals believe that they have a slow metabolism because they feel unable to lose weight. But around 9 times out of 10 this is just due to eating too much food. If you eat in a caloric surplus, meaning you eat more energy (calories) than you burn, you store the excess as fat because your body doesn’t need the extra energy provided.

So the first way you can improve a seemingly slow metabolism is to consider whether you are eating in excess. If you don’t exercise and you have an office job, your basal metabolic rate (BMR) is going to be very low – for a 5ft4 woman, this may be only around 1,350 calories per day. So eat within your metabolic means, don’t overcompensate.

Apart from that, how else can you improve your metabolism?

1. Exercise

To increase your metabolic rate, expend more energy—this pushes your muscles and cells to convert more energy, which places greater demand on your anabolic processes and optimizes metabolic function.

2. Eat protein at every meal

Eating small meals frequently has a positive effect on your metabolism due to the thermic effect of food (TEF) i.e. your body uses more energy in digesting food. Protein causes the largest increase in TEF, increasing the metabolic rate by 15-30%.

3. Use Beauty of Action’s Slenderiiz Day and Night Drops

This natural product is scientifically proven to give your metabolism an extra boost to work at full capacity. It decreases appetite, curbs craving and helps to control and regulate the hormones associated with fat stores.

If you want to improve your metabolism and lose weight, you need to be realistic about your food intake, and discount any chronic condition like hypothyroidism. For a natural way to boost your metabolism to function optimally, exercise more, eat sufficient protein and use helpful supplements. You may also want to consider how detoxing can help weight loss.

How Does Detoxing Help With Weight Loss?

Going on a ‘detox’ became a popular thing in the last few years, associated with drinking detox teas, only eating vegetables, juicing, fasting – you name it ‘detox’ covers it. A lot of these methods are more myth than miracles, but what is the truth about detoxing and how can it help you lose weight?

Firstly, it’s important to say that your body has amazing natural detoxification processes. The liver is one of the most powerful organs in the detoxification process. The liver regulates blood composition, processes nutrients and filters out toxins. It plays an important role in transforming substances like ammonia, metabolic waste, drugs and chemicals so they can be excreted.

Our kidneys are small but hard working – they are responsible for constantly filtering our blood and producing urine. This process helps to keep our blood composition stable and electrolyte levels balanced.

These natural processes detoxify your body from toxins. However, if you have recently been eating a lot of junk or processed foods, have been drinking alcohol more frequently perhaps around the holidays or maybe you are just not feeling your best – you may want to assist your body’s natural detoxification processes. These types of foods and beverages produce high levels of inflammation in your body as it struggles to eliminate the chemicals that have been consumed.

Inflammation is the root cause of so many health problems. Everything from acne to unexplained weight gain to cancer. If you notice that you feel slightly ‘puffy’ and are struggling to understand why, you probably have inflammation in your body that needs to decrease before your body starts to lose any excess fat.

When you help to detoxify your body, you are allowing it to work at full efficiency rather than expending energy on the taxing process of detoxifying a ton of processed foods and/or alcohol. If you reduce or eliminate the consumption of these foods and follow a prescribed detox program you are going to maximize the weight loss you are aiming for. Find a detox program that aids and feeds the liver’s detoxification pathways, while providing nutrients to optimally repair both the body and the gut.

The health and fitness industry has convinced us that losing weight is a matter of calories in versus calories out. But that is only a fraction of the truth. The truth is that the food you eat has a number of micronutrients, macronutrients, chemicals and more. When you consume something, your body begins the process of breaking down and processing these elements. It’s better to eat 150 calories of nuts than 100 calories of candy, why? Firstly because sugar leads to sugar addiction and overconsumption. Secondly, the sugar spikes insulin levels and triggers inflammation and acidity, which will prevent weight loss.

Go for a detox program that will aid your body in its natural processes. Avoid insane calorie restrictions in the name of ‘detoxes’, these are hard to stick to and often result in a metabolism downregulation, binges and sometimes the slowing of the metabolism. Go for natural ingredients like activated charcoal, micronised zeolite and chlorella to help detoxify and absorb nutrients effectively. Go for Nutrifii Restoriix, to speed up weight loss and have you feeling amazing.

Detoxing: Fad or Fact?

Going on a ‘detox’ became a popular trend in recent years, associated with detox teas, vegetable-only diets, juicing, fasting—you name it, and “detox” likely covers it. Many of these methods are more myth than miracle, but what’s the truth behind detoxing, and can it really help with weight loss?

Your Body Already Detoxifies Itself

Firstly, it’s important to understand that your body has built-in detoxification systems. The liver is one of the most powerful organs involved—it:

  • Regulates blood composition

  • Processes nutrients

  • Filters out toxins

The liver transforms harmful substances such as ammonia, metabolic waste, drugs, and chemicals so your body can safely excrete them.

The Role of the Kidneys

Your kidneys, though small, work constantly to:

  • Filter the blood

  • Produce urine

  • Maintain blood composition and electrolyte balance

These organs are essential in your body’s natural toxin elimination process.

When Your Body Needs a Detox Boost

Even though your body detoxifies itself, you might want to assist these processes if you’ve:

  • Eaten a lot of junk or processed food

  • Consumed more alcohol than usual

  • Been feeling sluggish, bloated, or off

These dietary and lifestyle habits can increase inflammation, which makes it harder for your body to function optimally and eliminate toxins.

Inflammation: The Hidden Obstacle

Inflammation is at the root of many health concerns—from acne to unexplained weight gain, and even serious diseases like cancer. If you feel “puffy” or off without a clear reason, chances are your body is inflamed—and this can block fat loss.

How Detoxing Can Support Weight Loss

When you reduce the consumption of processed foods and support your body’s detox system, you free up energy for better metabolic function. Following a structured detox program can:

  • Reduce inflammation

  • Improve digestion and nutrient absorption

  • Support liver function

  • Maximize weight loss efforts

Look for detox programs that feed and support the liver, and repair the body and gut with nutrient-rich ingredients.

Why Calories Aren’t the Whole Story

The fitness industry often repeats “calories in vs. calories out,” but that’s not the full picture. Every food you eat contains:

  • Micronutrients

  • Macronutrients

  • Chemicals

These affect your metabolism in different ways. For example, eating 150 calories of nuts is healthier than 100 calories of candy. Why? Because sugar:

  • Triggers addiction and overeating

  • Spikes insulin

  • Increases inflammation and acidity

All of which block weight loss.

Choose Smart Detoxing Over Starvation

Avoid detox programs that rely on extreme calorie restriction. These can cause:

  • Metabolism downregulation

  • Binge eating

  • Long-term weight gain

Instead, go for natural, effective detoxifiers like:

  • Activated charcoal

  • Micronised zeolite

  • Chlorella

A great option is Nutrifii Restoriix—designed to speed up weight loss and help you feel amazing by supporting your body’s natural detox processes.

5 Steps to Reset Your Mind, Body and Health

5 Steps to Reset Your Mind, Body and Health

Life can be overwhelming. Whether you’re managing a high-pressure job, raising children, dealing with personal challenges, or simply trying to keep up with the demands of modern life, it’s easy to feel depleted—mentally, physically, and emotionally. While we might dream of a monthly escape to a tropical island, most of us don’t have that luxury. The good news is you can still reset your mind, body and health without leaving your home. Small, intentional steps can have a profound impact on your overall well-being.

Here are five powerful strategies to help you reset and restore balance:

1. Start Meditating Daily

Meditation is one of the most effective and time-tested practices for restoring mental clarity and emotional stability. Rooted in Ayurvedic teachings and Eastern medicine, it’s now backed by a wealth of scientific research.

Practicing meditation regularly can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, improve focus, and enhance brain function. It has also been linked to increased emotional resilience and greater self-awareness—key ingredients in any reset routine.

Even just 10 minutes of mindfulness or guided breathing each day can dramatically shift your mental state, helping you feel more grounded, centered, and in control.

2. Start Journaling to Declutter Your Mind

Journaling is a simple yet transformative habit that allows you to process your thoughts, understand your emotions, and release mental clutter. It creates a safe space for reflection and insight, especially when navigating stressful life transitions or internal confusion.

Research shows that daily journaling can reduce anxiety, improve mood, boost memory, and strengthen emotional awareness. By putting your thoughts on paper, you gain clarity and perspective—making it easier to move forward with purpose.

Start by writing about your goals, emotions, challenges, or anything weighing on your mind. The more consistent you are, the more empowered and clear-headed you’ll feel.

3. Incorporate High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

Physical activity is essential for any mind-body reset, and few forms of exercise are as efficient as High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). These short bursts of intense movement followed by brief rest periods maximize calorie burn, boost energy, and improve cardiovascular health.

HIIT not only supports physical transformation—it also impacts brain chemistry. The surge of endorphins during intense workouts elevates your mood, enhances focus, and helps regulate stress hormones like cortisol.

With sessions as short as 10–20 minutes, HIIT makes it easier than ever to build a consistent fitness habit that supports lasting mental and physical wellness.

4. Nourish Your Body with Whole, Nutrient-Dense Foods

When it comes to resetting your health, what you eat matters just as much as how you move or think. Food is more than just fuel—it’s information for your body. Nutrient-rich meals filled with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants can dramatically improve your energy, mood, and immune function.

Processed snacks, sugar, and caffeine may provide a temporary boost but often lead to crashes and inflammation. By focusing on whole foods—fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, healthy fats, and complex carbs—you can stabilize blood sugar, balance hormones, and support gut health.

When your body receives the nourishment it truly needs, your mind naturally becomes sharper, calmer, and more focused.

5. Support Your Reset with Smart Supplementation

Sometimes, even the best diet and habits aren’t enough to meet your body’s needs—especially when you’re recovering from stress or dealing with nutritional gaps. This is where targeted supplementation can help.

The Health Reset Pack by Beauty of Action is designed to support your journey from the inside out. With a blend of high-quality nutrients, probiotics, antioxidants, and detoxifying ingredients, this pack helps restore balance and promote optimal function.

Products like Pure Nourish Natural, Power Boost Cocoa, and Restoriix are formulated to cleanse the body, support digestion, and re-energize your system—providing the perfect foundation for lasting health improvements.

Let Me Introduce Myself – Meet Nikki

Hi, I’m Nikki! I have recently taken over Beauty of Action and I am excited to introduce myself to all of the customers who have worked with Beauty of Action in the past.

A few years ago, my life looked perfect. I had a career, a good salary, a great family, my first child. I was well travelled and had many amazing friends.

But I was tired! I found that all I was doing was working and I had been working away from my support networks so I was burning out.  My body and health were struggling, my skin had deteriorated and I felt like the years had taken a huge toll on my health, not to mention their impact on my relationships with those I loved.

Despite earning a good salary for many years, I wasn’t anywhere near where I wanted to be financially. I seemed to be going in circles, around and around, with no progress to show for it.

Until one day I decided that I needed to make some changes. Nothing was going to change unless I was open to thinking about life differently.

An opportunity came up and I decided to go for it. I said YES to something that was going to help me get my health and skin back on track. Little did I know that this was just the beginning of so much more – without knowing it, I had said YES to a way of living that was on my own terms.

I started using the products offered by Ariix International and I loved them. They made such an improvement in my life that I had to share them with others. I wanted to tell all my friends and family about these products that I had fallen in love with; products that had helped me and many others in so many ways. It didn’t feel like work and yet from it came this secondary stream of income.

What followed was a life that actually is perfect. One that I have always dreamed of but never knew how to achieve. A life with so much more freedom and choice; and the chance to help others, not only with how they felt about their physical self but also share with them this chance for financial freedom.

This is not something that I learned to do through school or university, or skills I gained in my  more than 20 years in the workforce. My success has come from a passion for helping others gain confidence and take control of their life. It’s come from a desire for me to change how life has always been, to something worthy of a vision board.

Sometimes I think back on my life before and imagine where I would be if I had said no – still stuck in that rut, tired and burnt out with nothing to show for it. We often say no to things we don’t understand. I said no five times before I realised that I didn’t even know what I was saying no to. Taking the first step was scary but turned out to be so worth it.

Now I am on a mission. I took over Beauty of Action because I wanted to help more people than I was able to before. I know that many of you have already used these products but I want to make sure none of you get lost in post-purchase confusion. I want to support you toward your goals.

Beauty of Action is a beautiful website and the original owners had a wonderful vision. I am here to take that to the next step, to take it beyond products and towards a community of people supporting each other. When you buy a product through Beauty of Action, you are now joining our family.

Then after you make a purchase I want to make certain that you get the support and guidance you need so that those products get you the results you were aiming for.
